Bolted repair clamps

Bolted Repair Clamps are widely used to repair pipelines carrying oil, water, gas, steam, or chemical fluids. They work well in both high- and low-temperature conditions. Typically, these clamps feature two halves. These are bolted together to form a high-integrity pressure vessel around the damaged section.

Moreover, they include high-quality elastomer seals. These are carefully chosen based on the fluid type and operating temperature. As a result, the clamps ensure a secure and leak-proof seal. Furthermore, for a longer-lasting fix, operators can weld the Bolted Repair Clamps after installation. In some cases, they may even apply a full seal weld without shutting down the pipeline. Thus, they minimize downtime and help maintain continuous flow.

High-Performance Bolted Repair Clamps

Clamps are repair fittings that can be used to seal leak caused by corrosion or damage on onshore and subsea pipelines. These Clamps are tested to 1.5 times the design pressure. Steel Grider Rings prevent displacement & damage of packing during installation. Standard working pressure is 1000 maop. Higher working pressures with various lengths are available on request.

Features

Standard Clamps come fitted with a high-grade elastomeric seal, typically made from Buna-Nitrile or Viton. In such applications, the sealing load builds up through the tensioning of clamp studs. Additionally, all clamps feature an external pressure test port, which helps verify joint integrity before commissioning.

Moreover, a twin seal configuration is available. This allows inter-seal testing to be performed during installation, adding another layer of safety. You can use these clamps for both topside and subsea pipeline repairs, depending on your needs.

For more specialized applications, manufacturers also offer engineered solutions. These versions use a metal graphite composite seal, a key feature found in all Split Sleeve Clamp Mechanical Contractor products. As a result, these clamps deliver reliable sealing under demanding conditions.

Benefits of Bolted Repair clamps

Bolted clamp repair solutions offer a reliable and efficient method for fixing leaking pipes or areas with wall thinning. These clamps are self-sealing and activate as soon as you securely bolt the clamp studs. While standard versions come with a single seal, you may also opt for a double seal if enhanced performance is required.

Moreover, manufacturers hydro test each unit to 1.5 times its design pressure—or as per your specific requirement. As a result, these clamps deliver greater reliability even under demanding conditions. In addition, you can use them for both subsea and topside pipeline repairs, which makes them highly versatile.

What’s more, each clamp includes wedge-shaped grooves to prevent seal slippage during installation. Besides that, they are designed according to ASME VIII standards, ensuring compliance and safety. When necessary, suppliers can also provide prep angles for welding directly onto the pipeline, thereby offering a more permanent and robust solution.

Applicable International Standards

The design, engineering, and supply of the fire tubes (two units) shall, wherever applicable, and unless otherwise specified and mutually agreed upon, conform to the relevant API, ASTM, ANSI, ASME, or equivalent standards and codes. In addition to these, the work shall adhere to internationally accepted standards and best practices. Moreover, all standards and codes used in the design shall be of the latest version or edition, ensuring up-to-date compliance and quality
